If you ask any hunter they'll tell they probably have filled more tags in the low-light hours than any other time. With that said, it would be wise to design a scope to excel in early-morning and late-evening light. Effectively reduces reflected light and increases the transmission of light giving you a brighter image than normal single coated lenses.
Waterproof
Regardless of how heavy the rain is coming down or an accidental drop in the water, this sealed and gas-purged optic will remain waterproof.
Nitrogen Proof
Nitrogen gas is used to purge air from the optic to help maintain internal fog-proof and waterproof capabilities.

I bought this scope for my PCP air rifle to have a lighter weight hunter than my other PCP.
This scope has very good optics: I'd compare it to my Vortex Diamondback or Leupold VX-2. The windage and elevation clicks are very positive in feel and you can hear them from 10'+ away. The reticle is thin and there are 4 mil-dots in each direction. At 12X it will focus down to 10 yards, no closer. The side AO knob is fairly stiff at this point but the markings are pretty accurate. I did the box test at 30 yards with 20 clicks in each direction and it shot a a perfect square, returning to the original zero.
My only disappointment is the weight as specs show 16.2 ounces but my digital scale says 19.4 ounces. The 12" length is accurate.

Excellent glass for the money. Great power range. Clear optics. Power ring and turrets neither too hard nor too easy to operate. I put it on a bolt action 308 hunting rifle. I used medium rings. There were some problems mounting it. The tube was too short to mount on the 1 pc. picatinny type base I was using so I had to modify the forward end of the base to clear the ocular bell. Then the nitrogen purge/fill tube below the turrets is very large and prevented the scope from being mounted because of the mounting slots. So I got out my dremel again to modify that. Finally the knob on the power ring was interfering with the bolt handle so I filed down the knob as well as the bolt handle until it cleared. If you have no experience making these sort of modifications I would advise taking the rig to a gunsmith.
After I completed the modifications I was very happy. I zeroed at 200 yds. (about min. of angle groups) and will use the mil dots if longer shots are necessary. I am happy with my new pseudo tactical bolt action 308.

One Fantastic Optic!
The Athlon Talos 3-12x40mm with a Mil-Dot reticle in the second focal plane, sidefocus parallax adjustment (marked 15 yards to infinity) and quick focus eyepiece is one great optic.
Mine is mounted on a 22 rimfire rifle and it allows me to shoot and hit metallic silhouette targets out to 200 yards with great consistency. The mil-dot reticle subtension validity is 10x, so adjustments to point of impact is easy if your dialed into 10x and know the distance to the target.
The turrets are capped - no snow, dust, dirt or rain can get into the resettable to zero elevation & windage adjustments. Perfect!
The power level and sidefocus adjustments are smooth, consistent and easily hold their setting even after dozens of adjustment cycles. That’s speaks of quality!
Lastly, at this price point the optic is clear, waterproof, fog proof, nitrogen purged and the lenses are multi-coated. And... there’s a lifetime warranty too!
